GeekGirlCon 2018: Report

October 29, 2018

First, a massive apology to my three Saturday customers who purchased digital copies of The Abadon Relic Pt 1: By Night's Queen Shaped. I believe your receipts did NOT contain the links they were supposed to. If you are reading this, please send me an email at and I will send you the link immediately!

That bit of business aside - wow! What an amazing convention! I am blown away by how many members of the community were willing to come out and support a brand new author like me and I can't wait to keep working with all of you again. There were some amazing stories - more than I can easily write about here - and quite a few lessons learned. I'd like to share some highlights with you, though!

-There were at least two parents/guardians that wanted to get involved with The Aeon Immortal because it has representation that would matter to their kids. Thank you to these wonderful folk and please keep strong in your support of your family! I will keep trying to bring you inclusive literature where we can see ourselves grow and flourish.

-There was a Marceline chewing bubblegum and blowing bubbles, and I squealed out loud.

-People want audiobooks! Well guess what, I'm going to bring you audiobooks! More details on that soon.

-A college English professor corrected the spelling on one of my hand-written signs (I hope I accepted the correction gracefully enough XD)
-A lot of people were interested in buying access to the final community edit of The Abadon Relic online. I'm investigating how to make that happen now!

-So much love for Gay Firefly (TM) (aka Justice Calling, now available on Amazon).

-The results of this con make me think that continuing to pursue independent publishing is the way to go. Though if you happen to be a literary agent reading this and want to change my mind, you know where to find me. :)

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported me. I am overwhelmed by your enthusiasm and I promise to keep bringing you the good stuff. Happy GeekGirlCon, all!
